CLYDE COAST DOLPHIN SPOTTING TRIP

The waters around Bute have proved to be a popular play ground for dolphins & porpoise due to the tepid waters warmed by the gulf stream and the abundance of food for them to feast on.

For the past few years, the waters just of Greenock have proved to be one of the best spots to watch the dolphins & porpoise as they play and feed. Local fishermen keep us updated on where they have seen pods of dolphons and porpoise, so we are always in on the best spots to see these wonderful creatures.

Although we will be heading out to try and spot dolphins & porpoise, we will also be keeping our eyes peeled for minke whales and basking sharks.

With wildlife being exactly that, there is no guarentee that they will be playing ball and we not spot them but with a stuuning coastline on our doorstep, there is always plenty to see.

 Verified Gorgeous and fun!
We loved our Kyles of Bute trip with Bute Boat Tours. The views were stunning, the experience amazing and the info Al was able to give about the area was so interesting! We even managed to see some wild life amongst the scenery! Following Ferry issues getting to the Isle of Bute, Al was so very kindly still able to accommodate us which we really appreciate. We had a great morning out with Ali during our visit to Bute. Sadly we didn't get to see much in the way of wildlife on our trip but Ali's local and historic knowledge of the area made sure we were kept informed and entertained throughout our time on the water. we highly recommend a trip with Bute Boat tours.

 Verified Lovely trip spotting wildlife
Went with our 6 year old granddaughter. The weather wasn’t great, but the skipper is lovely and we had an amazing time, spotting porpoise and seals. Very safe and very enjoyable morning.

 Verified Bute Boat Tours
Took this trip 21st August and it didn’t disappoint!! We had barely left the harbour and encountered a pod of bottle nose dolphins. With Al at the helm of Commando One we headed out along Bute’s coastline. Al’s knowledge of the local area and especially the geology was second to none. Almost everywhere we looked we saw harbour porpoise and stopped to observe them. They got that close to us we could hear them exhaling as they surfaced. The boat, with its speed, covered a great distance in the 2 hour trip and even managed a lap of Cumbrae. We also stopped at a seal colony and for the twitchers out there plenty of sea birds were spotted. I always try to do a boat trip when visiting Scotland and have been on a couple of disappointing ones, with the knowledge you aren’t guaranteed to see anything, this one was amazing!!

What an incredible customer experience! If you are visiting The Isle of Bute, even if only for the day, book a fantastic voyage with Bute Boat Tours... You will not be disappointed. I booked online for the Kyles of Bute tour, and found it very easy to navigate the booking process. Our experienced and entertaining Skipper Al really made the whole experience unforgettable with his local knowledge and undoubted passion for the island and it's waters. The opportunity to see Bute in all it's staggering beauty from the water is one not to be missed. Getting up close to so many Seals was an added bonus but by all accounts, not unusual. There is many excellent things to do and see on The Isle of Bute but for me the trip with Bute Boat Tours was the icing on the cake! Went when first opened but didnt do full experience. This time we did full boat trip which was facinating , especially as one of our party is an engineer. Much more added now Visitor centre & food kiosks to make a very enjoyable day out.Reasonably priced too ,well worth a trip.
