The Kyles of Bute are rightly known across the world for their stunning beauty. The steep tree lined hills and narrow waterway are a haven for wildlife.
The area is dotted with small islands and we will sail around one of the most famous, Eilean Dubh (Black Island) and up Loch Ruel with its gentle tidal shallows. We also pass the small car ferry that crosses between Rhubodach on Bute and Colintraive on the mainland.
There is a large seal colony that has made their home on the shoreline of one of the small uninhabited islands and we often encounter dolphin and porpoise as we make our way through the straights. Bird watchers will be able to spot eider ducks, oystercatchers, herons and even sea eagles (If they can take their eyes of the stunning scenery).
On Thursday’s & Friday’s, we do a special sunset trip where we slow down, take our time and enjoy the amazing light and sunsets that truly show off the Kyles in all their beauty.
Please note that all trips are subject to having enough numbers/passengers.
